My and my soon to be hubby, have decided we do not want children at our wedding. Neither of us have children and don’t really have the budget for to include them either. We were planning on putting on the invites “Please make other arrangements for children under the age of 16″ or something along those lines. Would that please a clear indicator that no children are invited. Also I have been reading some wedding etiquette books and it says you should not put that on your invites. What do you think?

I am interested in being a home child care provider in Houston, TX. I would like to provide care in my home while going through the licensing process. Can I do this legally and for how many and what ages of children? I plan to get licensed for ages newborn to 5 years.

I was wondering do I have to have some kind of training or certificate to do home school for my children? Would that be a good idea? The reason is because this society is so bad that I don’t even want my kids around other kids because they might teach my kids bad things. So is it a good thing. People with experience only please.

I live in Florida and am interested in “adopting” needy children (giving them new clothing, toys, etc.) for Christmas. I know the Salvation Army is offering an Adopt a Child for Christmas program at our local mall, but I’ve adopted six children from this program this year and would like to perhaps find other programs/children that are in need of something for Christmas. Does anyone know of any websites I could check out that would point me in the right direction as to how to locate programs that are offering adults the ability to “adopt” a child for Christmas?

I’m thinking of going vegetarian, but my husband and kids are totally against it. Any good sites for kid-friendly meals? I’ve already tried soy dogs and burgers- they weren’t well-received.

Any of you who may have bought microscopes for your homeschool kids, what was the price range you paid, features you looked for and what did you use it for? I was a veterinary pathologist so when I look at one I am looking for way more than my kids need. Thanks for the advice. Oh, any good sites to shop?

For teachers, or anyone who knows, I see time and again kids in school picking on the ‘ugly’ or the ‘poor’ kid with no interference from teachers or staff, particular in 4th and 5th graders.
Is there some sort of teaching that says teachers are not to interfere when kids are interacting this way? These picked on kids come home, sometimes, in tears. What do you say?

It seems that in some cultures, it is normal to have a Brady Bunch family. In more modern times, especially in America, it seems that many couples are opting to have 2-4 children. What do you think is a good # of children for a couple to have, based on economics, time needed for quality attention, etc etc
